Training videos

Here are a few videos of behaviours I've trained for TV, film, and just for fun. All the behaviours were trained using reward-based methods, which is a great way to spend quality time with your pet, and to mentally stimulate them.

Highlights of Mat and Alfie at Flight School - Episode 6 of Dogs Might Fly.

Training Alfie, Shadow and Blondie for the "Pup Up and Away" training challenge - Episode 5 of Dogs Might Fly.

Training my cat Zep to "fish" for a television commercial. You can see the commercial at the bottom of the "Why choose me" page.

This is my dog Minty being trained for her role as ring bearer for our wedding!

Training a big Captain Cooker boar to mock attack for a film

Teaching Bo the Border Collie to fetch a tissue for me when I sneeze.

A placement cue is useful at times of high excitement/arousal. Pepper gets very excited when the baby carrier comes out as she knows there is a good chance she is going on a walk. This is good way to give myself and my boy some space.

Training Shadow for the music challenge - Episode 4 of Dogs Might Fly.

Casper the Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo makes a deposit - a good example of "chaining" different behaviours together.

Getting distance with a stay like this is pretty easy, it's a stay amid distractions that's the challenge!

Training Alfie and Shadow for the bedtime mini-movie - Episode 3 of Dogs Might Fly.
